SOUTHS LOGAN MAGPIES v SUNSHINE COAST SEA EAGLES Saturday, September 5 @ Meakin Park 3pm Referee: Justin Davis Sideline Officials: Shane Spicer & Ron Greentree Interchange Official: Tony Graham * Head-to-Head: Souths Logan 2, Sunshine Coast 0. * This Year: Souths Logan 2, Sunshine Coast 0. The Sunshine Coast heads into the most significant match in its short history without consistent lock Jon Muir. * Muir this week received a one-match suspension after being charged with contrary conduct following an incident at the end of last weekend’s qualifying final loss to the Central Comets. * The Sea Eagles were overwhelming favourites to beat the Comets last week but Brandon Costin’s team won’t carry the same pressure into Saturday’s showdown. * As the 2008 title holders and this year’s minor premiers, the Magpies are regarded by most pundits as the team to beat. However, the Magpies haven’t exactly set the world on fire in recent weeks. * They took the best part of 80 minutes to put the Tweed away in last Saturday’s dour qualifying final.
